Scanalytics, Inc. And VayTek, Inc. Announce Marketing and Development Partnership

(FAIRFAX, VA − February 7, 2000) Scanalytics, Inc. and VayTek, Inc. of Fairfield, Iowa have signed a marketing and development agreement which allows Scanalytics to maintain and distribute all of VayTek’s Macintosh-based 3D deconvolution software programs. These products, including acclaimed HazeBuster and MicroTome, are designed to remove out-of-focus haze from microscope images using a variety of deconvolution algorithms. Both deconvolution packages were created as fully-integrated extensions for Scanalytics’ IPLab image processing and analysis software. Through this arrangement, both Scanalytics and VayTek reaffirm their commitment to providing the most cutting edge solutions for biotechnology and digital microscopy applications.

VayTek’s HazeBuster and MicroTome extensions for IPLab were created to improve the effective resolution of images captured with a widefield microscope; however, the techniques are also applicable to images collected from a confocal microscope. Together, IPLab and these extensions provide an interactive, easy-to-use graphical interface, complete 2D-image quantitation, 3D deconvolution, and analysis of both grayscale and color images. HazeBuster for Macintosh is an affordable deconvolution extension that uses nearest neighbor and VayTek’s proprietary single image haze removal algorithms. MicroTome for Macintosh offers a constrained iterative algorithm for higher accuracy deconvolution.
