Scanalytics:
IPLab for Macintosh Available in v3.2. With New Device-Independent Methodology
(FAIRFAX, VA- AUGUST 10,1998) Scanalytics Inc. is proud to present its newest IPLabfor Macintosh software version 3.2. for scientific image processing professionals. IPLab for Macintosh is a software module that is used for image acquisition, enhancement, visualization, and analysis. The release of IPLab v3.2. introduces a new device-independent regulation methodology for image acquisition and microscope control. This new formula will allow users to more easily setup and interact with cameras and microscope control equipment. Microscopy applications of IPLab include Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH), time lapse, Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), and 3D deconvolution.
New Features In IPLab v3.2.
Device-independent control has been added for numerous IPLab Extensions in IPLab v3.2 . These include the Liquid Crystal Tunable RGB Filter from Cambridge Research, Incorporated (CRI) as part of the Shutters and Filters set of Extensions. The Z-axis piezo controller from Physik Instrumente and the X-Y-Z motorized stage from Prior are both now supported by IPLab v3.2 as part of the MicroMovers set of Extensions.
All of the Acquire Modules are still included free with basic IPLab! In addition, all Photometrics cameras are now supported by IPLab v3.2., as well as all Princeton Instruments cameras (including the new MicroMax 5MHz interline), the Orca camera from Hammamatsu, and the SensiCam from Cooke/PCO. Also, the Acquire 3 Channel Color command, which enables users to grab color images using a grayscale camera and a color filter changer, is now included with the new device-independent methodology. Thus, with the CRI filter installed, users can now acquire outstandingly realistic color images from their digital cameras.
Support for additional cameras, shutter/filter devices and stage control devices will be added in the coming months.
IPLabv3.2 now also includes our unique Cataloger software, a simple flat file image database manager that permits users to enter information as they acquire and save images on the Macintosh. There are five main commands in the Cataloger Extension which enable the user to create new databases, open database files, input up to 256 keywords per database file, apply any or all of them to a file or to an open image, or search the open database file. By combining our IPLab software with our Cataloger Extension, Scanalytics further simplifies image databasing and organization in the laboratory.
For compatibility, IPLab v3.2 now opens 3D data stacks created by NIH Image, 3D TIFFs, and planar Color24 files.
With IPLabv3.2., users can now have a "Startup Script" which will run at startup. This simplifies many tasks for users who want the most direct approach to imaging available, the "Plug and Play" method. In addition, other new scripts are now included in IPLab v3.2. to assist in analyzing microarrays and to perform some stereology techniques.
The price of basic IPLab v3.2. is $2,000. Our MicroMovers software costs $1,000, and our Shutters & Filters Extension is $500.
