Scanalytics Provides Superior Ratiometric Imaging Solutions for Windows
(FAIRFAX, VA - April 5, 1999) Scanalytics Inc., a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (Nasdaq:CSPI), announces the release of a new product, RatioPlus Extension for IPLab for Windows. Formerly available only for Macintosh, RatioPlus for Windows allows users to acquire, process and analyze dual wavelength image data for Ca++ and pH ratio experiments using high-quality cameras and wavelength switiching systems. RatioPlus is an extension to Scanalytics' IPLab software, which provides scientific image acquisition, visualization, analysis and laboratory automation in a single package.
RatioPlus Extension for IPLab/Win Modeled after companion product RatioPlus for Macintosh, available since 1996, RatioPlus for Windows provides an easy-to-use, integrated environment to acquire and process dual wavelength image data using high-quality cameras and wavelength switching equipment.
This new product provides for total streamlined acquisition, enabling users to grab a series of images prior to displaying them for the fastest image acquisition possible.
RatioPlus for Windows is a device-independent product, which gives scientists ultimate control over the experimental process. Device-independence allows users to more easily setup and interact with a wide range of cameras and microscope control equipment, as well as choose the correct hardware for rapid and high resolution image acquisition. The extension also gives users the control of exposure at the excitation light source, minimizing photobleaching and subsequent damage to the sample.
RatioPlus for Windows has an interface that allows scientists to plot multi-frame objects such as means, ion concentration and pH concentration over time, to analyze and compare multiple regions over time, and to perform realtime background subtraction during live experiments. In addition, RatioPlus for Windows also has a new Event Markers feature, which allows scientist to record specific times of experimental importance with the click of a mouse.
RatioPlus for Windows enables users to easily develop their own scripts to control and program repetitive and complex protocols while saving time and increasing quality control. Users can assign functions and even macro scripts to their keyboardÕs F-keys. Using IPLab scripts, a complex experiment that requires movement of a microscope focus motor, filter cubes, stage and shutter in a precise manner can be completed easily and accurately.
"Scanalytics is constantly striving to produce quality software products which ensure your imaging successÓ stated Dr. Michael Mort, President of Scanalytics, Inc. ÒThe release of RatioPlus for Windows brings Scanalytics closer to dual platform equality, with a broader line of products and add-on modules for Macintosh, Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0."
